I'm picking up my new 04' CRF450 tonight and was hoping to get a better answer on what the "Hot Start" lever is for? Can you thumper guys help?

Congrats on the new bike! They're awesome!
As far as the hot start goes, I THINK it leans the jetting. Basically if the motor is warm, pull the hot start in and hold it, then kick until the bike fires up (usually 1-3 kicks), then release the hot start. It's pretty simple. The owners manual will take you through the drill too, it's a really good manual.

Be sure to check the spokes after the first three or four rides, they'll all loosen up---and use the spoke wrench you get with the bike, the nipples are really soft aluminum and will deform easily. Have fun!

yep...just use the hot start when ever the motor gets warm after riding etc.

also be sure to check your chain slack......mine stretches alot after each ride.
