CRF450R Tires

I bought a 2006 CRF450R with less than 12 hours on it.
The guy whom I bought it from put a new rear tire on it prior to the sale.
It's a Bridgestone m402.
By my 4th ride I have ripped off over 1/3rd of the knobbies to the base of the tire. I ride in northern californina, mostly woods/single track type riding, which I would say is a medium hardness terrian in the summer.

Any suggestion on a new tire that hooks up and wears well?

Dunlop 952, I've had very good wear on my YZ250 and they're cheep too! You can get them from Motoxoutlet.com for $56. The michlein MS3 wears well also but tends to chunk more.
