I have a 2000 cr125 and in my Motocross Action magazine and it said putting a 1995 cr125 cylinder in my bike would make it faster, is this true and is it expensive?

They say to put a 2000 cylinder on a 02 so if you had a 95 would they say to use a 02 cylinder?my point is dont beleive you need to buy a new cylinder to get more hp-do a search on Cr125s for loads of info on mods-all mods should work on the 00.

I believe also you will have problems with the powervalve governor and the pipe junction. When the 2000 cylinder came out, it was easier and more economical for some race teams to get custom made pipes and convert to the 99-older cylinder than to do some testing until they found the power in the 2000 design cylinder. Now, they have done their homeworks and they found what they needed out of the 00 and up design. That's why now almost no one uses the 99-older cylinder with 00-up bikes.
