Damn Tire size question again

I did use the search but there are so many variables involved in getting new tires. Right now I am running a Michelin 90/90-18 up front and a 120/90-18 in the back. I am going to give the new dunlop 952's a try now. They only have one size for the front which is a 80/100-21 which I am pretty sure will fit. For the rear there is a 110/90 and a 120/90. I am not sure which one to go with since stock was a Dunlop 100/100. I'm leaning toward the 110/90 but just want to make sure I get the order right.

Thanks

The 80/100-21 is what comes stock on the KDX 220, the 110/90-18 will fit. The 100/100-18 and the 110/90-18 are real close. The 120/90-18 is just a little thinner then the 110/100-18

Heres the specs on the Dunlop 110/90-18

Applicable Rims- Overall Diameter - Overall Width
1.85 26.26 4.92

Heres the specs on the Dunlop 120/90-18

Applicable Rims- Overall Diameter - Overall Width
2.15 26.85 5.20

Heres the specs on the Dunlop 100/100-18

Applicable Rims- Overall Diameter - Overall Width
1.85 26.60 4.90

thanks for the info...i was looking at the Dunlop website and it never ocurred to me to look at the chart for a different tire that came in the 100/100 size.

Looks like the 110/90 should be a real close replacement though.

thanks again

FYI-I just switched the rear M12 to a 756. I feel this tire tracks and grabs much better than the M12. The S12(Front) and 756(REAR) work great together

Did your search show this?

Check the tire size chart..old metric, new metric and all that stuff.

You might check that front size again. ;)

Unless you changed it for some strange reason..it's a 21" up front.

Yeah...typo I'm sure..but might as well have the right numbers to start with!!

My tire size on the old KDX is 4.00x18, now what else would fit on this? The selection in this size is crap.

oh, HELL no, I don't really have an 18 on the front...that was a serious typo! :yikes: I went and got the 80/100-21 for the front and the 110/90-18 for the rear. I haven't got them on the bike yet but they look about the same as my Michelins. Was going to order them from Rocky Mountain but my local dealer only wanted $86 for the pair.

I'm going on a 55 mile poker run on the 21st and plan on testing them then. I'll report back with how they work since they are so much cheaper than the M12's.
