Dazzle video editing ????

Has anyone used Dazzle DCM-80 to edit videos on your pc. I bought it sat for $60 at bestbuy & it seems pretty cool. I made a lil video of some old mx footage in about 1.5 hrs with music & all.

The only thing i dont like is there are no real instructions... I used the help screen alot but that gets old .

I compressed the vid for 10 meg to 800K but lost some resolution but thats the easiest way to email out...

anyone know how to burn VCS's? I have a burner & easy cd creator 4.0 ...

Well, post the video. I'd like to see it. What type/speed computer do you have? Did it perform well when editing the video? Did you just hook your camcorder up to the video in on the computer?

i have a 1.2 athlon 256 megs mem, geforce 2 mx vid card....

the dazzle thing hooks to your pc with a usb cable & then allows you to hook up vcr, dvd player, cam corder or whatever to your pc ...

ITs fairly easy but no real instructions ... had to use the HELP button alot which took alot of time ... so far for the money its not to shabby

I just need to figure out how to burn them onto Cd's...

I need to up load the video to a server to post i would guess...

You might want to look into the DivX codec. Awesome compression rates, and great quality. All preety much any movie ripped is ripped then encoded with DivX....

Adobe AfterEffects

Im used to using Adobe AfterEffects (Which makes Dazzle look like a turd, respectivly).

It would be better to bring the resolution of the video up a little more than that. 800k will look even worse on a slower machine, or one without a video card.

Your best bet would be to compress it to about 2 or 3 megabytes. Thats still a fairly small file to send by E-mail.

the adobe stuff looks great but i dont have that kinda $$ right now.. Looks to be close to a grand for premier & after effects ...

I agree Dazzle is limited but for the $ i think it will be a ok starter program...

I'll prob just play around with it & then in a few months upgrade to something else..

Well you are paying a grand for 2 cd's 2 manuals and 2 boxes if you ask me, the program is free after all :p
