Do a search - you will find an old thread on the snorkle. We had one on my son's quad - Yamaha Blaster (2 stroke in case you are not familiar with them), with a FMF pipe and silencer. Without the snorkle, even with the silencer freshly repacked, his quad was over the woods limit here in Michigan (94 DB), i think he was pushing 98 maybe? dont recall really. We had the quad sound tested with it on, and with it off. With it on - came in under 90 Db I think (this is a few years ago ...pardon my forgetfulness!). These things are flat out butt ugly, but they absolutely do the job to quiet a bike down - no ifs, ands or butts about it. Install was easy and painless, never had any issues with it coming off on the trail or anything.

Now - in all fairness, I need to tell you, while I was not "paid" to write any reviews on these, we did get one of the very early ones produced for free - the maker was asking for people to put them to the test and see how they worked out and to provide feedback to them. (Which we did). We were his first on a quad, or at least on a Blaster. Regardless - if I thought it was a bad product, or did not work, I would say it even if I got one for free.

Not quite sure what your asking, but if you want too know if they work, then i can give my thoughts.
I got one as a gift and tried it on a stock 2002 YZ250.
With my brother as an impartial observer, i tried idle and full throttle runs with him behind me.
both of us agreed there was no real differance both in sound or performance.
On the other hand , i put it on my 88 YZ 490, bored to a 510, with a stock pipe and silencer and we agreed it made a differance in sound with no real differance in performance.
The biggest difference was taking away the pop-pop-pop at idle.
Over-all, not worth $100, but i would pay $50 to put it on a big bore.

I pit one on my 97 CR250R, along with a ProCircuit 304 (?) forestry approved muffler.

My sons and my brother all agreed that the addition of the DB Snorkle was the most effective noise device.

They indicated that even at full throttle the CR was not as obnoxious as with just the ProCircuit pipe.

You still get the noise at idle- rattle in the header and the escaped noise from the head pipe, but during riding the DB Snorkle does make a difference.

Also, a ranger stopped by to check our cards, when he looked at the DB Snorkle he didn't even ask me to start the bike!
