Dead spot?

I have a ? for everyone my brother in laws bike has a dead spot when you first crack the throttle. He has a 2003 Yamaha WR450. Does ne one know why it does this? or how to fix it?

on my KDX if i adjust the air screw it usually fixes the 'dead spot', the air screw affects the the first 1/8 of the throttle. im not sure about a 4 stroke though, it might be different

i have an 04 wr450 turn the air fuel mix to 2.5 turns out instead of 1.5
