My local dealer has helped me a lot in many ways. I have a bunch of kids and bikes. Not just a VOR. Keeping them up and running can be a full time job at times. NOT having to hunt down the best price for a KX125 top end rebuild kit saves me a ton of time where I can be earning money. The prices I get from this dealer are BETTER than the many "Power Sports" dealers with the "know it all punks watching FMX vidios on the job"...of which there are an abundance of in my state! I can get better prices on line sometimes. But I spend a couple of hours doing it plus phone bills. So I save $5 dollars on that top end kit online but spend 40 of my time and resources doing it! I'll just call Nancy and they get it done. They win because they do what they were hired to do...find the parts at a reasonable price. I win because I can do what I am hired to do...push dirt around. The Euro Bike experience has been much better because of that local support. Even though nothing has gone wrong with the bike, the fact there is a place close by who has both experience and parts makes it easier to just ride the crap outa my VOR and NOT worry about breaking it. No window dressing here. Since he also has great contacts to VOR and experience, setup issues and tips are freely given. I also think different dealers project attitudes that make the customer reaction more or less emotional. My dealer definilty has a long term relationship with a cutomer as a priority. He sells bikes but the business is supported though parts, supplies, and service. He has done stuff like breacking down a set of forks I was having trouble with on a Saturday so I could finish rebuilding them Saturday nite...I just walked in and explained the situation. He helped out. Some dealers seem to try and make you feel as if you need them more than they need you.The punks at the desk try to make certain you understand their particular greatness. And the Service folks make you understand how backed up up they are and how there is no way they can help you on YOUR time schedule....The bigger they are and the more volumn they do....some get worse. (Althought I know a very large dealer who still has customer service as a priority) We have some of the WORST that way here in Colorado. One of the BEST KTM dealers in the Front Range is in laramie Wyoming. Small shop. But he has the right attitude. He sells more KTM's than ANY one. Including the big Denver area dealer. Since a large sales volumn of KTM's & VOR and the like is drop in the bucket as compared to the major brands many of the Euro Brand Dealers are smaller and more in tune with their customers. The KTM dealer in Larime is and so is the VOR dealer in Longmont. They race & ride with their customers. Flex because they can around customer needs, and this basic attitude difference is one reason a Euro bike wth the right dealer is a whole lot more fun than a hot Major 4 bike and a Power Sports type in a huge new building.:scream: ( Funny thing is my Euro dealer gets many of his Major 4 parts from the same distributers as the big guys....same price without the attitude. What a deal!)
