I will be ordering my early Christmas present soon. Should I buy a few jets to accommodate the modification? Any other advice?

Sure. Depending on what you have ......or don't.

38-45 should be fine for pilots.

Depending on whether you ride in the sand or not (maybe richer than oem), 148-155 mains will likely be sufficient.
