Quick recap of the A-final (saw it on tv, the coverage (it was live with no commercial breaks but I mean camera angles, position charts etc.) was _way_ worse than for the regular GP rounds). Smets and Everts storm to the lead from the start, RC maybe around 10th or so. Everts takes the lead and runs away a bit from Smets. RC works on the other riders, gets by Coppins in the whoops for 3rd and Smets for 2nd somewhere with apparently NO BLOODY CAMERAS around. He catches Everts and is _WAY_ faster in the whoops, every single time. In fact, RC was the only rider show to really blitz the whoops that looked pretty tame (low), but apparently were pretty gnarly. Hughes got taken out in the whoops by someone who caught him at the end of the whoops and slid under him. Ferry worked his way up steadily, but was probably not about to pass anyone for position anymore when he did a classic flying W when entering a slightly whooped out straightaway from a chicane and proceeded to go over the bars. They also showed a lot of Jussi-Pekka Vehviläinen, a Finnish rider who just came out of two long injured periods (he raced no GPs this year). I'm pretty glad that he certainly still has the speed to run with the big dogs (admittedly, he has always been a bit of a sand specialist) and got 5th. Add to that a good finish by Pyrhönen, who, contrary to his past races, got a great start, and Finland is once again on the podium!
