difference between 05 & 06 yz250f frame???

just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between a 05 & 06 yz250f frame. i have a 06 with a cracked frame and was wondering if i could just swap everything over the a 04-05 frame??

Is it not obvious?

The 06 frame is aluminum. PRevious years are steel

05 frame was aluminum, it was the first year. 04 and earlier were steel frames. You should be ok with an 05 frame. Good luck.

The '05 YZ 2 stroke was aluminum, but not the 4 stroke. The aluminum frame didn't show up on the 4 strokes until '06. Don't think the swap would work. I have seen some '06 frames on the auction site though.....

the YZ250F didnt get an aluminum frame til 06' like originally stated.

not sure i haven't rode dirt in a while, the bike was a steal of a deal from a friend so not exactly sure how it happened

yea. 06 was the first year for alum. frame. 05 and older were steel
