Well the 250 is still the larger class bike than the 250f. But in reality the 4 stroke will cost more than the 2 stroke. You can get some really good deals on the 2smokers from dealers.

Which one is better? Well the 250 has more power than the 250f. They are about the same weight, but the 250f is much smoother. Really depends on what you want to do with the bike. Offroad I would run the 250. Indoors and a MX only track bike the 250F is a much easier bike to ride faster longer.

YZ250r 2 stroke will be easier on your wallet, 4 stroke racers can take it's toll on your wallet with constant valve jobs and God help ya if you tare up the top end on one. However if want to remain in the 125cc class you would have to go with the 250f.

It is not the valve jobs. The YZs rarely need adjustment. With anything with more moving parts, more things can go wrong and it takes more money to replace all those extra parts.

For power, the 250f has way more torque than a 125. Thus they have obsoleted them stock vs stock.

yeah its only obsolete because its TWICE the displacement........ 250 2t are faster and 250f's are slower. stick with the simple 2 strokes because thay are so fast and fun and easier to maintain.
