My 99 KX125 comes stock with an NGK BR9EVX spark plug.

NGK also makes a BR9EV which I assume is pretty similar to the EVX except the EVX is a "Platinum" plug.

What are the performance differences between these two plugs?

Is one "hotter" than the other?

I believe they are the same heat range but the platinum is supposed to last longer? I run the "X" and it runs fine, but I'm sure I couldn't tell the difference if someone switched my plugs!

They are the same heat range. I'd personally run an ES type plug and save the money. I like ELK probably wouldn't know the difference.

I run and have ran BR8es in all 125's I have owned. They cost a dollar and are affordable to change often and last just as long as any other plug.
