difference in '00 and '01-'02 250 EXC

I am a few days from buying a 2000 250 EXC. I was content on the decision until hearing references on various sites of lacking rear suspension, finiky jetting and the like. I cannot find my old magazine articles right now and am at a loss to find the differences between the 2000 and the newer ones ('01&'02). It's almost sounding like the 2000 had some subtantial quirks and the '01 &'02 corrected the faults. Should I avoid the 2000? It is bone stock, but has been rejetted correctly

Randy I would't worry about the 00 250 It's a great bike.
I had both bikes and I liked the motor on the 00 better than the 02.
The 00 is smoother and seems to have more tourque than the 02.
The 02 is alittle faster than the 00 on top. I have some jet specs that work
pretty good with the 00,using stock pipe with fmf turbine core spark arr.
