Well, i have an 06' TTR-230 and it has a D.I.D. 520v2 chain on it. its an O-ring chain. My question is, can i purchase a regular non o ring chain and put it on this bike?
Before you buy a chain what kind of riding do you do?
If you ride woods that frequently have water crossings then buy the o ring. If you always ride MX tracks or fields in the back 40 then a standard chain should do just fine for you
phewie..... ty for the info. i do woods and column banks.Whats different between the o-ring chains and the regular chains? (yeah i know one has o rings on it :P ).
Run to the DID website (google DOD chain to find it) and compare the strength and longevity between their chains to help understand the benefits of the o-rings. If you still don't get it, the start digging for every bit of info that you can find. I have just ordered the standard O-ring over the ERT2 based on longevity despite a reduction in strength because it looks like it will better suit my riding style and budget.
