It was cool. Literally. We left 105 degree Kansas City weather and were greeted by a 72 degree Illinois climate. Myself and Agent Orange slept on an air mattress in the back of my truck. It got down to 41 degrees that night (I think). It wasn't a pretty sight: 500+ pounds of arse on a poor little air mattress, under an EZ-Up in a 6 foot truck bed. One of us would move and the other would flounder in his wake! Plus, I sat in awe several times as Firemdic530 (DRZETim) absolutely FLEW that DRZ. I think he took 5th in the A-B MX race. Had Agent Orange run over my head in a creek bed in the woods. Rode down the gnarliest, most rutted downhill I think I have ever ridden to date, AND, I got to pass the infamous "Spodeless Bike" in my MX race! (I'm not going to mention any names!;)) Night time poker run: No headlight needed. Just take some duct tape and any near-death, dime-store flashlight, attach it to your front fender and you're good to go! This year, I'm bringing name tags! Seriously. WAY too many faces and names to remember. Far and away the absolute BEST time I have had since I started this obsession 16 months ago.
