hi,,
my bike shifts good and doesnt pop out of gear, nor does the clutch slip that i know of,,, but my clutch plates are 3 years old.
i dont slip my clutch very often when i ride, but do plates wear down and rob power unknowingly?

Yes , plates eventually wear but it will take along time if your the type of rider who doesn't abuse the clutch and changes the oil often. 3 years is a pretty long time so just for basic maintenance you might wanna consider replacing the plates soon or risk the chance of the clutch going out. You'll notice that the bike will rev fine but the bike won't ride as fast as it did with plates winthin specs.
