Dodging the bombs on my KDX220R.

Went out for a little bimble locally today on my KDX220R.
Got lost and the likes but what the hell, it was fun and dirty.

Byways turn into bridleways and footpaths in the middle of nowhere round here. Bit of a nightmare cause if your sticking to the law you can retrace your tyre tracks back miles just to travel a few hundred yards to a road that you can see. What do ya do????????
Luckily most farmers dont mind you being in the area but some do which i find funny (funny as in annoying) as they dont seem to mind dragging all their land out onto roads when the feel so inclined.

Eventually found my way to the bombing ranges out on the marsh. Brilliant out there, its where the RAF practice . :D

Armour is pretty good at standing up to machine gun rounds but they do cut deep. Some of the wheels on the personell carriers were actually perforated. Glad its unrestricted access at weekends because theres no bombing etc. Not sure me or my KDX would cope so well.

The ships in the background are actually filled with concrete so they dont get blown apart. Not a good place to go off the beaten track as there are unexploded bombs lying about.

One of the observation towers where they inform the RAF they have hit. :D

Anyway, was only out a couple of hours and most of them i was lost. Then nipped in me local for a pint or so which didnt make for interesting photos. :D

Yeah, bike is road legal. Doesnt take much really, just add brake light switches and high/low bean headlight with a LED tail/stop light (LED because the KDX stator doesnt knock out much power and the LED doesnt draw much power so it doesnt dip the headlight when you put the brakes on).
How do i keep the bike clean? Well most of the riding that day was on sea bed basically, loads of water but salty so it gets a good wash and WD40 bath when i get back. Its mostly land reclaimed from the sea in the 16th century because it was fertile for growing crops. The RAF use some of it for their gun and bomb practice during the week but its free land during the weekends. Only thing you have to be careful about is where you cross over the sea defences. The tide actually covers most of where i was riding basically.
If you look in the pic with the ships in the background directly across is where the Queen lives (Sandringham, Norfolk) and spends a lot of her Christmas's but i live in Lincolnshire and im in Lincolnshire in the pictures.
I come from Wales originally and miss the hills and forests but where i live now has its attractions if you can get used to it being so flat. Infact a bit further round from where i am is Boston which is where the founding fathers sailed from way back when hence Boston MA in the USA (bit of useless info for you all there).
Anyway, cheers for the comments all.
