A co-worker is selling a 2000 426 for $3,000. All stock except for a head pipe & muffler, bars and plastic. The bike was well maintained and he's cutting me a deal cause were friends and he wants the money fast for a new KTM 450 down payment.

Question is.....
Will this bike put a smile on my face?
I rode a TRX250R quad for 10 years before selling in 2000 (bad decision!) and love the 'hit' that two-strokes provide. Will this bike deliver the goods? Is $3k a good deal on for a non-raced So Cal bike?
Edumacate me please, I've been out of the game for far too long.

Thats not a bad deal if its in good condition, but if I were you I'd get a two stroke, if you like the power band on a quad.

What kind of ride will you be doing?

What size of a bike do you need?

yea that sounds like a good deal if it runs/looks nice with no leaks and you dont need a 2-stroke for one thing a yz426 will give you all the thrills and power you need and another thing people cant seem to understand it that the kick on a 2-stroke i cause it lacks botom end power so finaly when you get enough speed they kick in and a 4-stroke doesent haft to cause its got all the power from the start they have the most tork.
