Has anyone ever heard of an oil drain plug that is a plug inside a plug? The part is made for stripped oil plugs. You drill out the hole bigger, locktite the large outside drain plug in the new tapped hole, and then there is a smaller drain plug in the center that is removeable. Two different people have told me about these things, but no one knows what they're called or where to get them. Thanks.

Most commonly use in automotive applications. They are generally only used as a last resort, when the oil pan is not easily removed or funding doesnt allow. I have seen them leak, but in a pinch, such as a dirt bike engine, it may not be a bad idea. You should be able to get one at a Napa store or similar. Just be careful, the smaller plug will also strip easily. I always use a torque wrench on mine.

Thanks Joe. Any idea what they're called? What do you torque to? I've already helicoiled my plug hole, so I hope they make one big enough for my threads...
