I changed the 15 tooth front factory sprocket with a 14 tooth from Sprocket Specialist (the only ones making a replacement sprocket) and noticed the replacement did not have the rubber suspension cushion that the factory sprocket had. Does the DRZ400 and DRZ400E have the rubber suspension on the factory 14 tooth sprocket??

If anyone has a 14 tooth factory sprocket they want to sell, please let me know.

I am beginning to wonder if that rubber suspension is to cushion the tranny from highway speeds.

You are correct, and no, I don't think you will find the E's 14 inch sprocket with the rubber insert either.

I have a 13 tooth on my DRZ400S and it works great off road, can't go so fast on the highways either now.

Check out http://www.thumpertalk.com , has some great DRZ info

You don't know if a DR350 sproket would work? Is the fitting the same? I have an OEM 14T with the rubber on it in good condition that I just changed to a 13T. If you pay the shipping its yours. The Sunstar doesn't have the rubber on it, but I did not notice the difference. I can give you the part number to check if its on the sproket or you can check it with the dealer to see if its the same. I'm not sure if the size has chagned.

Thanks Danman,

I checked and they changed the countershaft sprocket on the 400's over the 350's.

Oh well, I'll just live with my Sprocket Specialist one.
