i have a 1988 DS80.. i was wondering if the 1989 RM80 would be interchangable. I want to put a pipe and/or other accessories to my bike and its been hard so far and everything i've fould was for an 89 RM80

please help :)

you can switch some parts but the motors are the same as a 1977 rm80, however the cranks are slightly different, rm80 has a pei ignition and the ports are bigger on the rm80.you can drop in a 1979 rm80 motor and it has 6 speed and probably 5 more hp.

so the 1979 RM80 motor would be like.. the same as far as fit and stuff?

my main concern is will the body plastic and tank and stuff.. will they fit?

the bikie is being shared between my brother and i but i think maybe once i get back into riding ( i have ridden a few times before at ppls houses).. i hope i can buy my own bike. i have a great saving ability..haha :nod:
