I had an E-Line carbon fiber pipe guard on the last 250, and swore I'd never ride without one again. So, when I picked up the new Katoom, I ordered a pipe guard and skid plate from E-Line. I really like the way the guard follows the shape of the frame, and isn't just a flat piece of metal. I've since have someone tell me a carbon fiber skidplate is not the way to go. He claimed his got scarred up and then started 'fraying.' I never had that happen with my last pipe guard, but you never know. Has anyone had any experience with a carbon fiber skidplate? I guess it's too late anyway, now that its ordered, but I'd like to feel better about it.

CF can delaminate and get torn up under hard and I mean HARD usage, but that's what it's there for, to get beat up vice what ever it's guarding. I'm not a fan of CF for my own reasons, but if it suits your needs, and you like them, then I'd say go for it. :)
