I painted the frame of my '98 RM250 yesterday. I sanded down the rusty areas to bare metal and sanded all remaining painted areas to scuff them up. I was going to use etching primer on the bare metal areas only then follow up with PJ1 primer over everything before top coating with PJ1 frame paint. I was running short on time so I skipped the PJ1 primer. I just primed everything with Eastwood Etching primer, let dry for 2 hours then used the PJ1 frame paint. Looks great so far, anyone know of any problems with what I did?

Based on your post I assume that you are aware etching primer is intended for bare metal surfaces...if you're concerned about applying it over previously painted surfaces you can rest easy. If the painted surface was prepared (you said you scuffed them) everything should be fine; the etching property of the primer will not be an issue over paint.
