Exhaust baffle

K i got a 81 250 yz, its got the fac baffle, its loud as hell! Is there a good replacement to quiet this beast down? :eek:

DG is the only one I know of that still makes exhaust and silencers for the 81 model.

I bought one from dennis kirk, very nice looking for sure. The bike won't be done for a few more weeks so you'll have to hold up if your going to ask how loud is it.

I guess ive met the resident funny man :yeehaw:
Dont have a muffler wrench at the moment so im not able to get the bubeulater off :thumb:

Turned out to be the fuel evaperater, Thanx for youre ideas though! That piston return spring made me laugh!! good 1

I know this is gonna sound dumb but here goes
Can i repack my stock silencer somehow? I know ive put myself in the line of fire here but oh well.
It is an 81 yz 250 and im ony gonna use the bike ta tool around and have a little fun.

You can repack it if it is a straight through silencer. On an old bike like that, you will most likely have to cut the end off, pull the old packing out, repack, and weld it back together. I there was a guide on repacking old silencers on www.off-road.com. You will most likely have to search through the archives to find it.

yea u should be able to. if not just by a new silencer.fmf sells one for 70$
