What exactly is it? How does it work? What does the piston have to do with it. I'm trying to find a piston that will fit my bike, but all the ones that i can find don't have the holes drilled. How hard is it to drill the holes? Anyone else had experience with this...

Thanks guys

The bridge supports the piston and keeps the rings from bulging out into the port on bikes with real wide ones. It's easy to drill the holes. Wiseco includes instructions with their pistons. I assume that OEM pistons come with the holes.

Short version is: install the piston on the connecting rod, slide the cylinder over it, use a pencil to trace both sides of the bridge on the piston. Remove the piston and drill the holes between the lines, where the instructions indicate. Use a drill press if you have one available. Hole size may vary, so follow the instructions.
