first off what does FIM stand for? I just ready that they are rumored to be racing only 125cc 2 strokes, and 250 4 strokes. and that arena cross will only be having one class of both 250f's and 125 2 strokes racing eachother.

if 250f and 125s are racing in the same class in arena cross thats still means everyone will be on a 250f. at first i read it incorrreclty and thought there would be 2 seperate classes. 125 and 250f. which would be good for the 2t's but if they are both in the same class its still bye bye 2t

Rotorranch, are you also a member of G.O.R. as well.
HGIII, 2 strokes can still be competitive with the right rider on it. Travis pastrana and Worlds back in 2000 or 2002 he was ridding a RM124 without a big bore or stroke and still managed to beat a ton of riders that were ridding 500s and 250s. Trust me the 125 still has the potential.

it does, theres kids at the track on 80's faster than me. it is about the rider, but if it came down to it in a class of 125's vs 250f's im sure 99% of people are going to choose the 250f

Better yet, remember Bubba's last year in the 125 class? He was on a 125 and it was down to him and Chad Reed, who was on a YZ250f. Bubba was so far ahead at one point in an outdoor National that he stopped and waited for Reed. Reed got there and Bubba turned it into a drag race. Not only did he win the short drag race, he of course won the race.

I'm just glad to see the AMA kicking up the displacement of the 2 stroke to 153cc (for Amateur level). As a top guy at KTM -- who makes a wickedly fast 250F -- said in an interview a couple years ago, this Formula 1 technology in these racing 4 strokes is expensive...and the racing is not 2x or more better than it used to be with 2 strokes.
