Hey i am 17 and looking to buy my first dirt bike. I am 5'11 and 135 pounds. I found a 96 kdx 200 for 1500. Here is the ad

"1996 (new in '97) Kawasaki KDX 200 2nd adult owner...not abused. Runs great and starts 2nd to 3rd kick every time. Fresh top end last year and 2 short rides on it this year. Have riding gear to include 2 pants, boots, helmet and goggles. New rear tire, chain, grips. Full FMF pipe, recent tune up, fluids, Clutch cable, several different sprockets, Taper bars and Light kit. 1500.00 will consider trades."

What do you guys think about this bike? What should i pay for a bike like this? Thanks for any help.

Have a look at Canadian Dave's Just KDX portion of this web site, also go to http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/ and learn the ins and outs of this very popular bike, and what to look for when buying one. $1500 for a '96 kdx200 is a reasonable price IF the bike is in good condition.

It's a ten year old bike, can you afford a newer bike? Good luck to you and welcome to the dirt. Ride safe and have fun.

1500 Is about what i can spend maybe a 100 more but thats about it. I think i would rather get an older bike first and then after i get better buy a newer bike.

I've been trying to sell my well-maintained '96 for $1400 here in the NM/TX/CO/OK area w/out a single bite. At that price, I'm thinking hard about just keeping it.

Nothing at all wrong with a 10-yr old KDX esp. if it sat for the first 3 years of its life and then was only ridden by a casual trail rider for the next 2. Then, of course, I got it... :)

Jmmay, i doubt it is the same bike but if it is the one in upstate Ny dont buy it, it is a peice of crap. I went to look at it. If it isnt the same one, it sounds like a fair deal but dont great, i would say it is average price.
