First Desert Race

I have a Cordura tool wrap that I put all my tools in so everything is secure and I doubt it could poke through the stuff. Im thinking all I really need is the plug and plug wrench. I cant think of anything else that could go wrong that i could really fix in the middle of the race.

Well guys the race is tommorow and the weather should be perfect, we got some light rain today so shouldnt have a lot of dust and the sun should be out. I went out to practice today and was exploring some new trails and had to cross a creek. I wanted to find a spot that wasnt as deep as the main road, so i went up a bit and tipped the bike over in some rocks and put a small dent in my pipe. Then i got to the spot that I thought to be shallow and started in. About halfway through it started getting deeper and deeeeeper and deeeeeeeeeeeper I ended up up to my waist in water, couldnt even see the bike. I got it running and got home and tore it down completely and made sure everything was good, changed oils and all that then went out and rode for another hour to make sure I did everything right. One last looking over and I think my bike is ready. I will have a full report tommorow evening. Wish me luck.:aj:

whens the next race?

Well, it was a lot more fun than I had expected and a lot harder too. 42 miles isnt near as far when you stop every now and then. The course had tons and tons of sand, not a whole lot of whoops, but tons of sand. There was a pretty tight technical section down through a rocky canyon, then a crazy hill climb, they had two ways up the hill, one for the type that likes to go straight up, and another tight rocky switchback section. There was also plenty of wide open places. The weather was good, but a bit windy. I dont even know what place I got, but I was pretty close to the back. The only casualty was my skidplate, after saving me from a bunch of moon rocks, it decided to fall off somewhere, even after I hosed all the bolts down with red loctite. All in all it was a great time and hopefuly I will be ready for the next race in two weeks.
