Hi all,
yesterday was my personal D-day. Last year (04-06-2000) I broke my arm and had problems with getting the bones back together -> http://www.gp-racing.de/xray1.html and yesterday we went to a nearby moto cross track to check wether I'm still able to ride and how it will feel.
What should I say: it was great though it also was pretty heavy due to really muddy conditions paired with a very bad track.
My rebuild KTM 520 EXS Widowmaker, equipped with a Big Gun quiet series exhaust and a different carb needle ran pretty well.
I only could do two laps and then I have to take a rest and after 12 laps I was pretty tired although I went to the gym at least twice a week. Riding is the best excercise.
Here are a few pics but none of me riding -> http://www.gp-racing.de/dielheim_01.html
Now I'm waiting for better weather and my new van (the old one got stolen) and then I'll go for my first race at May 19th.
Anke my girlfriend will race her first event next Saturday and then we'll do hopefully lots of races together.
Greetings from still cold and wet Germany,
Peter

Nice pictures Peter. I'm actually a little jealous, as I live in the California desert, and we get very little rain here. How are the riding opportunities in Germany? Is it as restricted as they report over here?
Well, good luck on your first race back. Take it easy and ride smart!

Well, when I came to California in Dezember 1998 I never wanted to go back. I don't like muddy conditions mostly because of the cleaning mess after riding. It took me nearly an hour to get my bike clean.
Riding in Germany is very restricted. There are only a few moto cross tracks and not all are open for public. In former eastern Germany you still can do some good trailriding because it's more wide open than here in central Germany and nobody really cares. One guy has been recently killed because some stupid people put a small wire between two trees in the woods and he was bleeding to death (he was riding alone).
I'll take another ride on Wednesday...
Peter
