Fly wheel weight....

I am interested in fly wheel weight. I do alot of trail riding and have noticed that people mention if you use fly wheel weight it helps when trail riding. What is fly wheel weight and where can you get it? Also, how much do you use? I ride a 1992 WR200.

A flywheel weight adds weight to the crankshaft which helps keep the inertia \ momentum going. This typically translates into a bike that doesnt stall as easily or rev quite as fast, which reduces wheelspin in slick conditions. I doubt that you will have much luck finding a flwheel weight for your bike. FWIW, I have ridden one of those (wr 200's) and found it to be very tractable in stock mode, with a decent amount of flwheel weight already.

Thank you for your help. I did find a company that has one for my bike, Steahly, I believe that it is 12oz. I agree that the bike tracts well. I believe that I will leave it alone but it is nice to know. The winter months are coming and more traction the better.
