I recently purchased a 1998 YZ250 that came with a pair of FMF pipes in addition to the stock model. The FMFs are both Fatty Gold. One is marked 089Y48 and fits correctly. The other is marked Y42 Torq 060197 and doesn't fit the exhaust port. I suspect that it is for a different model year. The difference between the two is that on the Torq model the O-ring is about twice as far from the end of the header, suggesting that the header is that much longer. Consequently, the mounting brackets are all off by about 1/8-3/16".

The friendly folks at FMF haven't a clue what the pipe is for, but in doing some research at some of the online parts houses, it appears that the Fatty Torque for the YZ250 was offered only for the '95-96 model years. Can any of you readers confirm that?

One thing that might throw the whole thing off is this. FMF , at some point in time, called the pipe a "Fat Boy". Harley apparentally did not like this much.
