Anyone know much about these SST pipes? I was pricing up a fatty for my 01 YZ, being attracted to the "all round" power increase they allegedly give, but then I noticed the SST claims to do the same, but better (and is 30 bucks dearer). What do you think the better pipe is, for all round as much as possible power gain. I ride mixed trails, 50/50 tight/slow and open/fast.

Also, should I go with a Powercore2 or a shorty muffler! Ta.

The sst has a rapid diffuser in the main convergence cone and it causes the crown of the piston to heat up more rapidly because of the returning sonic waves to the exhaust port. That is where the power comes from along with the larger volume too. If you look at the middle of the SST it has a few steps in it that create the rapid diffuser. I hope that helps you some. Be careful with the timing espically on a yz 125 they have a pretty aggressive ignition map that is preset from the factory. putting the sst on can sometimes make the pre- ignition worse.
