FMF TurbineCore 2 on 2003 KX65 - please help

Wow am I confused. My sons bike is a 2003 KX65 and we just bought an FMF TurbineCore exhaust for it (I ordered a Turbinecore 2 exhaust and was sent the TurbineCore). I wanted a TurbineCore2 exhaust but am wondering if this exhaust does not fit a 2003?

I went to various sites to see and they are all different. FMF says that the Turbinecore fits 2003 on up and the Turbinecore2 fits 2000-2002. You would think that it would be the other way around wouldn't you? Doesn't TurbineCore1 come before TurbineCore2? Wouldn't you have made the TurbineCore1 for the 2000-2002 bikes and then made the 2nd generation for the 2003 - 2005 KX65's?

Is there a difference somehow between the two bikes where the Turbinecore2 would not mount correctly on the 2003 KX65?

i would go with what FMF lists as the correct applications. If you want, you can call them up and ask them to clarify any questions you have on the two spark arrestors. And yeah, i agree with you , the applications for certain parts can be pretty screwy on those websites.
