pardon my ignorance here, I am usaully too intimidated to post in this forum, but since I was able to replace fork seals I was actually thinking of having a go at rebuilding the rear shock on my CR250. It's a 1992 and what started me thinking was the foam bumber seems to be decomposing. No leaks on the shock right now but I hate being intimidated by it.
1) can the foam bumber be replaced w/o removing the shaft first?
2) is a shock rebuild something the average "joe mechanic" can do?
3) does it require specialy tools?
Thanks in advance.
