I may be able to swing up for the afternoon. I have some work to take care of in town, but I think I'll have most of the day off after that. and KM ia only an hour away for me

Better call the ranger ahead of time, I dont think that they will make the early opening with the snow this year.

I heard that Troy Meadows is waist deep in snow right now. There is a lot of snow in the mountains this year. 3 weeks ago I went cross country skiing at Frazier Park near Gorman. Their was at least 6 feet of snow at the 8000 foot level. Also a lot of downed trees in certain areas. It might be a late seson in the mountains.

The lasting snow should help keep the dust down a bit in the summer months. Now if we can only get the Forestry to maintain the trails again. The last two years seems like they have done zero trail maintenance up there.

I heard they didn't expect to open the traIls until June but you should call the ranger station to make sure.

Let me know when you come down, I'll stop by and shoot the bull, my bike has issues so I wouldn't be able to ride though.

I think KM will still be closed, so it's probably the Piutes. Jawbone is an easy staging area, but if the park is crowded and the temps get real hot, we might want to find a cooler spot to stage. Any suggestions?
