Hello all. I have a fuel injected 510 Sherco which has a catalytic converter in the silencer. It is robbing much-needed horsepower and was wondering if anyone knows the implications of removing the internal components of the silencer? With it being fuel injected I can’t jet it, what will be the effect? After market pipes are hard to get hold of for this model, especially for me as I live 8000 miles from my dealer. Any help gratefully received.

Cheers,

Jay.

Your bike is Euro III compliant so it's already running on the lean side. Anything you do to the intake or exhaust that makes it run even leaner will only serve to slow it down and compromise the fuel curve further. Until you can find a way to modify the pulse width table of the ECU with a Power Commander or similar device, you are pretty much stuck with leaving it stock.
