with a FULL tank to start with and forty two miles later, i ended up with about a 1/3 of a gallon. Is that the kind of mileage everyone else is getting??
I had similer questions about my wr250z (2 stroke) and by my best guessing and measurement I get about 25 miles to a US gallon ...I find that this stuff concerns me because I dont want to end up out of gas 20 miles from help, so its always something I worry about, one of these days I will get a bigger tank...RIDE ON!!! :aj:
I realized improved mileage with the DDK needle. I hear the CEK gets similar results. These needles lean out the 1st 1/4 of throttle. There's no issue heading out with a couple gallons for a 40 mile loop.
In baja I was getting 60mpg out of my wifes '98200mxc to everyones amazement.
We would pull up to fuel stops and after 120 miles her bike would only take two gallons of fuel. I know because I filled it and mixed it in two gallon cans.
Eric **** also said that her piston was more devastated than any he remebered. It was running for at least 1200 miles this way.
I can race 40+ loops here in the socal desert and have ~1/3 tank left.
Funny thing, two races ago, I went ~38 miles. Then a few weeks later I did a about a ten mile poker run on the remaining tank. I hit reserve with the last check in sight and felt STUPID for not even thinking about topping off for the run. And I got a lousy pair of 7's. :debil:
