If i run my 4 stroke 300 in top gear wide open for too long i will starve my engine of oil..... Running on the road between trails

True or False, explain if you have the time

thanks in advance.

2 strokes tend to have issues with oil migration at sustained high rpm. The oil doesnt have time to separate from the fuel and move around enough in the crankcase to lubricate everything properly. 4 strokes dont have that problem since an oil pump supplies all the moving parts with oil.

CRFs sometimes have transmission issues with dual sport riding because they rely on the oil splashing around to lubricate the transmission which might not happen on pavement. The problem was most notable on CRF450X models and is eliminated by running a full quart in the transmission side. Your bike has a common oil sump between the engine and tranny so thats a non-issue.

You should be fine just as long as your bike isnt running real lean as you're running on the road.
