I bought a crf450r about 6 weeks ago. What a nice bike. I can safely say it is easier to ride fast on a track. It's is also easier to jump. All this said, I don't think the fun factor is as great as when I am on my yz250. At first I was taken by the smooth power of the 4t, and all the low grunt, but after some time I find that I miss fanning the clutch out of a corner and hearing that 2t ripping sound. The yz250 is much better in the woods in my opinion, lighter and easer to flick around. 4t's have a strong hold on the racing seen, but for the average guy, club racer, or woods guy 2t will aways be my choice.
Oh yeah, I have done more maintance on the 4t in 6 weeks than I will do on the 2t in a year.

you have a great point. i have fidden crf 230's and a 450 on a trail run once. the bikes are nothing like my yz, but i do think that the kdx is a pleasant middle ground.
