The manual talks about measuring the clearance from top of swinging arm to underside of chain.Do i need to disconnect the shock to find the tightest point?

With the rear suspension fully extended (bike on stand), pull the chain upwards from the rear end of the chain slider.

The gap between the bottom side of the chain and the top side of the swingarm should be between 30 to 50mm (1 to 2 inches).
