Any of you Gas Gas riders out there experience shifting problems on your bikes? My wife has an '01 XC200 that is currently stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. The gearshift lever will move up and down but will not grab a gear. I've done a bit of research on it and from what I gather, it's probably a shift pawl problem? I'm curious if anyone else has experienced a similar problem and what you did to fix it. Thanks for the help.

Hi Bob. My friend's XC 250 had this problem and it was easy to cure.

Go here: http://www.smackovermotorsports.com/index.htm

Then click on 'Talking Smack' on the left side. Then go to the 'GAS GAS TECHNICAL' forum and search / look around. I know there's a current post on the issue right now, as well as some older ones.

Good luck !
