I am wondering if guys running vintage bikes, are running more oil in the gas, than modern bike's. I run 40:1 in everything I have, and I just started vintage racing, and most were running 24:1 to 32:1, what do you guys think ??

My friends an........

My friend has ran his Old Yamaha IT's at 100:1:scream: .That was with opti-2 2-stroke mix oil. He still runs those things lean, but man do they scream!I'm guessing he runs them still at 50 or 60:1. When we owned older bikes (lots of IT's) we ran them at 32:1 just like any other bike we own.I think older bikes tend to foul plugs more though.

I run 32:1 on my Husky's. I run that so the engine lasts a little longer since parts are sometimes harder to get. I've never had a problem of fouling plugs on them. :D

I've had real good luck running 36:1 with Bel Ray H1R on the 125's and 250's. On my big bore two strokes I have run 38:1. (Not much difference but its a 20 year old habit.)
