Gas sitting in bike

I was wondering how long i dare let gas sit in my 2000 CR250's tank before i shuld drain it and freshin it up. I don't get to ride as often as i like to i can't always burn i tank in one riding. It's running 92 pump gas with Amsoil synthetic 2-stroke oil the name of the oil starts with a D it's the best stuff i could find. but i'm having one of those days so i can't remember the name.
I was told no longer then a month by some guys i ride with is this correct?

I would say one month is plenty.

I've gone as long as 3 months with zero problems. I usually ride every other weekend, and mixing 3 -5 gallons at a time, there is still some left for the next ride. Oil separation is not going to be a problem. Unless it's castor, it will stay suspended indefinitely. You might be giving up a little performance, but there certainly is no harm in running the old fuel.
