On my 02 CR250 I changed the back to a 50T when i got the bike. Now that i am jumping more I find on the tighter tracks I am between gears on the approach. Jumps that others do in 3rd I have to be in 4th. I am flat in 3rd and quit pulling at the face of the jump. Should I go back to 48T for these tracks?

Shifting to 4th just seems to lug it over the jump and drops the front a lot.

I have had the 48T sprocket on my 02 CR250 since new. I was happy with the bike and wanted a little more low end, so I have now gone to a 49T sprocket. Not a big change, but I like it.

What # is your countershft.

For tight tracks use a 13/14 and 51.

For more open tracks I use a 50.

So to answere your question, I would go to a 51 and wrap that thing out man!
