Sorry for those who may have or may have not missed me. I've been busy with my extra-marital affair....with the CBR;)

So here's one for those who have birthdays coming up, including me in October :( :

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old
is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited
about aging that you think in fractions. How old are you?.... "I'm four
and a half" .... You're never 36 and a half .... you're four and a half
going on five!

That's the key. You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back.
You jump to the next number. How old are you? "I'm gonna be 16." You
could be 12, but you're gonna be 16.

And then the greatest day of your life happens .... you become 21. Even
the words sound like a ceremony .... you BECOME 21 ... YES!!!

But then you turn 30 .... ooohhh what happened there? Makes you sound
like bad milk .... He TURNED, we had to throw him out. There's no fun
now.

What's wrong?? What changed?? You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're
PUSHING 40 ..... stay over there, it's all slipping away ........

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, you're PUSHING 40, you REACH 50 ..... and
your dreams are gone.

Then you MAKE IT to 60 ..... you didn't think you'd make it!!!!

So you BECOME 21, you TURN 30, you're PUSHING 40, you REACH 50, you
MAKE IT to 60 ...... then you build up so much speed you HIT 70!

After that, it's a day by day thing. After that, you HIT Wednesday ....
You get into your 80's, you HIT lunch. My grandmother won't even buy
green bananas .... it's an investment you know, and maybe a bad one.

Let's see I'm thirty-three. So that means I've turned, and am now speeding towards pushing. :scream:

I feel like I'm able (maybe not willing some days) to ride like I'm still twenty. The only difference is the Monday after "recovery" period lasts a little longer, like say to Wednesday.

In the words of my son (4) when talking to a friend about riding.....
"My daddy rides the old geezer class and he doesn't never win anything cause he's slow...." Everybody got a kick out of it except moi. I realized that he is right.
At 33 1/2 I have a lot of fun not winning anything!!!! Though Mondays I usually walk a little funny.

I didn't think I'd MAKE IT to 30! If I'd known, I'd have taken better care of myself . . . ;)

When I ride a lot, I feel like I'm 57 1/2 going on 20. When I haven't ridden much, I feel like I'm 57 1/2 going on,, well,,, 58.:scream:

Riding a lot has kept me fairly fit for an old guy. It has also forced me to run with a much younger crowd since not too many guys my own age still ride.

About the only time I feel my age is when I happen to walk by a mirror and I see this wrinkled up old fart looking back at me. Now that is scary.

I figure as slow as I am when 40 comes around I'll just stop 'cause I won't have enough speed to make 40 budge anyway. Then I'll never reach 50 or make it to 60 let along HIT 70, yup I'll just be stuck at 40 in a few years.

If you are not getting older . . .

Then you are dead!:) Food for worms, compost, bone meal, or a sack of inert ingredients that your neighborhood re-cycler would not give more than 19 cents for.

So life is good - I more week till 38 "winters" of age. ;)

Turned thirty last year. I'll be 31 in a few months. What have I learned? Very simple theory. Where everything used to shrink now expands. Where everything used to expand, now shrinks.

Side note: And what the heck is the deal with wild nose hairs after 30?

Don't cut them because when you get close to 50 you comb them to cover your bald spot

Yeah, I've pushed 40 for a while now, gave up counting grey hairs(too many). I be sliding past four ohh Sunday, excuse me while I enjoy my mid-life crisis.

Quote from card;" You're not getting older, you're being upgraded". How can that be, when I still have all the original hardware?

I hear ya!

I've been thinking about trying bikini wax on my ears, but I can't find a woman who'll demonstrate it for me.

Old 89r, that's classic! I hope I'm that cool 25 years from now!

Yarbonwick, I read your original post on your CBR - Having fun with it? I'd love to try a streetbike but I had two cousins killed on motorcycles and the thought of crashing on pavement .... too much for me. But it sure is a beautiful bike!

Re: Ear Hair.

I have a theory, and it seems to hold true. Every gray facial hair equals on big, black, disgusting, barbed-wire ear hair. The kind you could staple a 2x4 with. :scream: Yikes!
