I just got my new 50mm Canon 1.8 II lens from B&H. I figured for the money ($75) I couldn't go wrong. So I pulled it out of the box and snapped a few shots. I know the exposure and composition are not stellar on these shots, but I just wanted to show what the lens can do right out of the box. Shooting this lens with a tripod is going to be great.

The first is of our cat Indy (whom we now call Snaggletooth, for obvious reasons).

Don't turn your back on that cat he looks evil!

:) That's what everyone says when they first see him. I think it's the fire-eyes. He's actually very mellow, but he just can't seem to put that tooth away.

Awesome for low-light no flash shots inside.

I think there was a similar cat in the movie Pet Cemetary, so that's why you guys think he looks evil. My wife's going to love it when I tell her the guys on DRN think our cat is a demon!
