Christmas comes but once a year. Got the okay at 11.25am today from the wife to replace the kids bikes by 1.25pm the deal was done. Out PW50, in KLX110 for the son. Out XR70, in XR100 for the daughter. Unfortunately this means my new ( 1 year old kdx220 ) will have to wait, hopefully the guy won't have sold it by May when I can afford it. But think of Christmas day, it's 6am the World is sleeping peacefully. Two wonderful children awaken (one does, spots the bikes and wakes the whole damn house)
Cries of glee !! :yeehaw:
Then the whole neighborhood gets awoken to the blissfull sounds ( decibels below the township requirement ) of Bikes tearing up and down the back yard.
Got to love this time of year. Hey I never got toys. Now I'm 36 and hate that I suck on dirtbikes and can barely handle a TTR250 let alone even think I was good enough for the KX250 I had for 6 months ( sold - hurt to much ). My kids will understand and treat bikes respectfully. No 'I can too'.
My son jumps and does 180's and goes through cones ( where I get him to practice control ) like he was possesed for 1 year worth of riding. My daughter is careful, nervous and loves it ( she has yet to push enough to really learn ).
This is what I think growing up is about - learning what no one else can teach you - self confidence, agility, reflexes, panic, control, preparation, planning, co-ordination and lastly it's to late to stop this time if I do it again I will brake earlier. :thumb:
No I can't afford to adopt anyone ( even if you do have a 6 figure income ). I am now going to work 80hrs average overtime for 4 months to pay for this instead of my normal 40hrs. This is what Christmas is about.
