I dont think it matters which year and model of bike you have (unless it is known for not having poor handling or headshake) the GPR will help in the rocks and roots. I just recently put one on my MXC 250 and love it, i hit trail junk faster and dont worry about as much, I know the bars wont get ripped out of my hands as violently. I am still experimenting with it, but so far love it, I have ridden some rocky, rooty trails and have more problems with tire choice for the conditions than I do with loosing the bike due to roots or ruts.
