I just bought a YZ 250 and it won't idle in gear with the clutch in. I tried tightening the clutch cable all the way but it doesn't help. When I tap it into first gear, it stalls out because the clutch grabs. Does this mean that I need to replace the clutch plates?
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

could do, but don't expect anything amazing to happen, most bikes ive owned or my mates have owned have done this to some extent.

Sounds to me like your clutch isn't releasing all the way... You ought to be able to put it in gear with out it stalling..

visually take out the clutch and the baskets and everything (not as hard as it sounds) look at the plates visually if they are really worn down then it wont hurt to replace them while your at it just look over the whole thing and replace whatever u think might need replacing sounds like the springs and the problem listed below u could ask your yamaha dealer about the problem maybe they have springs that will work right.
